A Bit about Senator Gerhardt

Sen. Gerhardt was appointed to his position in October of 2023. He was chosen to fill the vacant Senate seat after the untimely death of Senator Doug Larson. Gerhardt is employed with Northwest Contracting, where he is a Construction Project Manager. Justin and his wife Maren have four children (Monica, Malayna, Michael, and Matthew).

Gerhardt is an Iraq War Veteran and served in the North Dakota Army National Guard for nine years. He is a member of several local organizations, (Member Knights of Columbus 6186, Fraternal Order of Eagles 2451, Moose Lodge 425, & DAV), volunteers with his local church - Christ the King, along with volunteering to coach rec soccer since 2012.

Senator Gerhardt currently serves on the Interim Taxation and Education committees. Sen. Gerhardt said "Allowing capitalism and free market principles to work in a low tax environment will allow both businesses and individuals to thrive."
